It Happened Again! The Same * Day * We Finally Launched...

The VERY same day that we finally launched our platform on Indiegogo to start raising awareness, there was an incident in the PSG vs Instanbul Champion's League match that led BOTH TEAMS to WALK OFF the field and CANCEL THE GAME.
Rather than thinking that these issues are increasing, I think that:
With mobile phones and new forms of alternative media these issues are finally gaining the attention they have so desperately needed; and,
People are becoming more empowered and have a better idea of how to act and respond to these situations.
The fact that BOTH TEAMS chose to walk off the field and cancel a Champion's League game is simply amazing, and truly powerful. The power is in the player's hands to make a difference in this game, and as a result, make a powerful and positive difference in society at large.
Amazingly enough, several days after this event occurred, ANOTHER event happened at a professional soccer match in England: It was the first week any fans have been allowed back into the stadiums in England to watch matches, and sure enough, during one of the games, racism took center stage. Just prior to kick off both teams took a knee to protest racism (this has been going on for months in professional games across England).
The very first time fans were back in the stadium for this match (Millwall vs Derby County), a large portion of the fans loudly booed and opposed the player's anti-racism message. They actually booed the players who took a knee to raise awareness of racism.
Together we can make a positive difference in the world if we choose. We can speak up when we hear or see something wrong. We can be more evident and overt in our support of others. Racism has no place in the beautiful game, it has no place in our beautiful world.
